Volunteer at Orion’s Belt

OPEN POSITIONS

POETRY EDITOR

Orion's Belt is looking for a Poetry Editor. Poetry editors are responsible for reading, evaluating, and providing feedback on poetry submissions received throughout the entire submission period. They work closely with the editor-in-chief to select works for publication and collaborate with poets on revisions.

We're an all-volunteer team, so this would also be a volunteer position.

If you're interested, please send your application at orionsbelt.submissions@gmail.com stating:

  • why are you interested in this position with Orion's Belt

  • your previous experience working at a SFF (or Literary) magazine and publication.

Deadline to Apply: 31 August 2026

AUDIO EDITOR

Orion's Belt is looking for an Audio Editor. We're looking for someone comfortable with both narrating and interviewing, to (1) narrate fiction (and/or poetry), and (2) record short interviews with authors. We're an all-volunteer team, so this would also be a volunteer position.

If you're interested, please send your application at orionsbelt.submissions@gmail.com stating:

  • why are you interested in this position with Orion's Belt

  • your previous experience in audio narration/editing, if any

  • your previous experience in SFF interviewing, if any

  • a short description of your recording setup/equipment

  • a 2-minute or less audio clip that demonstrates your reading style and audio quality

We're planning to put out a short podcast each month starting this summer. If you would like to be added to a roster of possible narrators if you're not selected as Associate Audio Editor, please note that, as well.
